“This year Liz Greenhill has done a tremendous job coordinating and has seen the number of participants grow,” Lisa Stiegman, Deer Path PTO co-president said.

Last year, 51 students participated in the science fair and has more than doubled this year, with 119 students involved, Principal Thom Gippert said.

Greenhill, who coordinated the event for a second year, said the science fair wouldn’t be possible “without support of parents and teachers at the school.”

Leanne Schmidt, PTO co-president said a group of parents had the idea about starting up a science fair for students. She said it was more than 70 science projects this year and hopes for more involvement in the coming years.

Belliveau's show aims to "inspire students to get involved in science themselves."

"Fundraising continues to be critical for the PTO so that we can provide opportunities like this," Stiegman said.
