Crystal Lake Students Receiving Top Honors

Area college students are excelling across the country.

Lewis University

Hailey Justes and Justin Jenkins, both of , were among those honored on the Lewis University Deans' List for fall semester 2011.

To be eligible for this honor, students must have completed a minimum of 12 semester hours of credit with a grade-point average of 3.25 out of a possible 4.0.

Huntington University

John Krabbe of Crystal Lake was inducted into the local chapter of the Phi Alpha Honor Society at Huntington University during a special ceremony on Jan. 24.

The chapter was created this year to honor the top students in the social work program. Membership is based on GPA, number of credits and sophomore status.

Krabbe is a junior social work major at Huntington University.

 

Augustana College

Nearly 900 students have been named to the Dean's List at Augustana College for the 2011 fall term. Students who have earned this academic honor have maintained a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a four-point scale for courses taken during the term.

Jula Haugen, a senior at Bethel University in St. Paul, Minn., has been named to the Dean's List for academic excellence for the winter 2011 semester. Jula is the daughter of Boon and Cynthia Charoenying from Crystal Lake.

The Dean's List honors students who achieve an outstanding scholastic record during a semester with a grade point average of 3.6 or greater.

University of Toledo

The following local residents were among more than 3,000 students from The University of Toledo who made the Fall 2011 Dean's List for their academic accomplishments:

Sondra Parys, a Communication major and resident of Crystal Lake.

Ashley Ross, a Multi-Age Education major and resident of Crystal Lake.

The Dean's List recognizes full-time undergraduate students who earn a 3.5 or above GPA for the semester.

Trevecca Nazarene University

Sarah Floress, a Sophomore Social Justice major, from Crystal Lake, was named to the Trevecca Nazarene University Fall 2011 Dean's List. This honor is given to students who have achieved a minimum 3.5 grade point average for the semester, and it recognizes the hard work and dedication of those students.

Trevecca Nazarene University (www.trevecca.edu), founded in 1901, is located in Nashville, Tenn. To its enrollment of 2400+, Trevecca offers the following: 85 baccalaureate and three associate degree majors; master's degrees in religion, education, management, physician assistant, library and information science, organizational leadership, and counseling; and doctorates in education and clinical counseling. Trevecca now offers a new degree-completion program in health information technology.
