D-26 Policy Committee To Discuss Legislative Positions

The School District 26 Policy and Finance committees will meet this evening to discuss the treasurer's report and district policies.

School District 26 policy committee will meet to address policies regarding teachers, students and administration.

The committee will address the public policy question ballot access, which allows Illinois school districts to place questions of public policy on the ballot by the Board of Education resolution. The committee will also address pension reform, mandates and state funding of education as it relates to HB750 and SB2288.

Directly after the policy committee meeting, the D-26 finance committee will meet to discuss the audit preparation and Scope review with Eder, Casella & Co. The finance committee will also provide an operational review update and discuss the treasurer's report.

Contract negotiations between the district and the CEA are ongoing, so the Board of Education will hold a closed session to discuss teacher contracts for the 2011-2012 school year.

All three meetings will be held today at the Cary Junior High School, 2109 Crystal Lake Rd. The Policy Committee meets at 5:30 p.m. followed by the finance committee at 7 p.m. and the special Board of Education meeting begins at 8:30 p.m.
