D-26 Community Engagement to Discuss Climate Survey, Negotiations

Cary School District 26 Community Engagement Committee meets at 6 p.m., tonight, located at Cary Junior High School, 2109 Crystal Lake Rd.

Cary School District 26 is nine days away from the start of a new school year, however the Board of Education and the Cary Education Association are at impasse because they haven't agreed on a new contract. 

The district's Community Engagement committee will meet to discuss negotiations, student climate survey results and a potential task-force to help students.

Any community member will have an opportunity to speak during the regular agenda topics.

District committee meetings are more informal than the regular Board of Education meeting, so the community can dialogue with the committee in a open forum.

The to the board Aug. 9 but the board declined the offer, stating they could not afford the proposal.
