Crystal Lake South Stands Out at State Science Olympiad

Crystal Lake South had five students receive medals at the state competition on April 20.

Five Crystal Lake South students were medalists at the state Science Olympiad championship on April 20 at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, according to a District 155 press release. 

Jeannie Van Vieanen and Lauren Barmore placed third in geocaching; Laura Deemer and Zach Clewell placed third in write it do it; and Andy Koltun placed fifth in green generation. 

The effort marked the highest-ever rankings for Crystal Lake South , according to the news release. The team finished eighth place overall while Stevenson High School took home the championship.
