Officials for Crystal Lake School District 47 for the past few weeks have been considering offering a full-day kindergarten option to parents.
School Board members discussed the pros and cons of implementing such as program at a committee meeting Thursday night, the Northwest Herald reports.
A District 47 program would likely come at a cost to parents, no more than $170 per month, the story states. Fees, to be set by the school board, could be waived for those unable to pay for the option.
If approved, the full-day kindergarten schedule would start in the 2013-2014 school year, the Herald reports.
