Cary-Grove Trojans Victorious in Lake Zurich

Trojans dominated against the Bears during non-conference away game.

 

The  Trojans varsity football team dominated a non-conference game against Lake Zurich on Friday night, according to the Northwest Herald.

The Trojans scored on their first possession, and controlled the remainder of the game, delivering a final victory of 21-6, the article states. The Trojans faced the Bears at Al Bohrer Field in Lake Zurich.

Lake Zurich (1-1) entered into the game ranked No. 8 in The Associated Press Class 7A poll. Cary-Grove was the first team to receive votes that was not ranked in the top 10, the Northwest Herald reports.

The Trojans' Baker rushed 30 times for 115 yards and a touchdown, and connected with running back Ryan Mahoney for a 36-yard touchdown on the first drive. Cary-Grove (2-0) had 12 first downs and held the ball for 15:23 of the first half, compared to Lake Zurich’s 8:37, the article states.

The win puts the Trojans in the top 10 for next week.
