Cary Grove High School Presents Les Misérables

Cary-Grove students presented their outstanding rendition of musical Les Misérables over the weekend. They will be running an encore presentation March 17-19

The musical is based on the novel by Victor Hugo.

Victor Hugo once said to his publisher, "You are right, Sir, when you say that Les Misérables is written for a universal audience. I don't know whether it will be read by everyone, but it is meant for everyone. Social problems go beyond frontiers."

Rob Boncosky, producer and director of the production, said "The timeliness of the show's themes, the talent of my current students, the 25th Anniversary of the musical, and the serendipity of the same students playing child roles in our production seven years ago now playing leading roles today, all gave me the confidence and inspiration to bring Les Misérables back to the Cary-Grove stage."

Boncosky added, "We auditioned for the show in December and began rehearsing the beginning of January.  It is one of our largest groups ever - with over 150 people involved in the production."

He said, "The students have embraced all that this show has to offer and surpassed my expectations.  I could not be more proud of all they have accomplished."
