Cary School District 26 Board of Education and the Cary Education Association will meet Sept. 21 to work out details of a new contract.

The teachers of Cary and the School Board will meet again on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011 to continue to work out the details of an agreement that considers the students of Cary first, because they are our greatest assets, Annette Bear, Cary Education Association member, said in an email.

Both sides came in the district.

"All Cary teachers are hopeful that the tentative agreement with the Board of Education will be completed soon," Bear said.

"Solid progress has been made since the last time we met a month ago," Larry said. "We have the financial framework agreed to by both parties, we’ve added additional time, we have most other items agreed to as well."

"We’re down to the last few things that were scheduled to meet about on this Wednesday night."

Both parties have agreed to keep details of the agreed terms confidential until the last items have been worked out.

"I think both parties are focused and committed to working those things out in the interest of teachers and students and all stakeholders of the district."
