Cary 26 Administrator Leaves for New Opportunity

Mary Dudek, director of curriculum and instruction will transition to a new post at the Barrington School district.

After four years of work in Cary School District 26, Mary Dudek, director of curriculum and instruction will step down and take a new position at the Barrington school district in their human resources office.

"It's the right opportunity for me at the time," Dudek said. "I have not sought another position, the opportunity just came up."

Dudek was contacted a few weeks ago about a position at Barrington and she spoke to them about the position.

District 26 has been supportive of the move and they’re our mixed emotions, Dudek said.

Dudek said she has worked here for four years and is a part of the community and the school boards have been hard working and dedicated.

The district curriculum hearing took place earlier this week and Dudek said the timing may seem odd but "I was offered the position and was waiting on board (Barrington) approval."

Dudek said her position with district 26 doesn't end until the end of June and she is still dedicated to the district.

"Even though I may not work for the school district, I’m still a member of this community," Dudek said.

The director of curriculum and instruction for district 26 has been posted.
