Area Gymnasts Head to State Meet

Gymnasts from the Prairie Ridge High School co-op team will compete at the state meet this weekend at Palatine High School.

Crystal Lake's Prairie Ridge co-op gymnastics team soared at its sectional meet, bringing home the championship on Feb. 4 at Fremd High School. 

The team will now head to the state gymnastics meet, which will be held Feb. 15 and 16 at Palatine High School.

The Prairie Ridge High School co-op team qualified for the state meet with a total score of 149.525 at its sectional meet, according to the Illinois High School Association website.

Allison Riedel, a Jacobs High School sophomore, also qualified for the state meet in the vault with a qualifying score of 9.725.
