We're proud to announce our holiday lineup - we've got a litte something for everyone!

Williams Street Repertory kicks things off! The cast will take you back to Christmas Eve 1949 and into the WSRP radio studio for It’s A Wonderful Life: A Radio Play.

The show opens November 23, 2012 at 9:00 pm, after the Festival of Lights Parade through Historic Downtown Crystal Lake, and runs through December 15, 2012 at Raue Center For The Arts (select dates and times).

Inspired by the classic holiday film, this production is presented as a 1940′s live radio broadcast. Watch "It's A Wonderful Life" every year? This production is your chance to fall in love with the story of Bedford Falls all over again in a way you’ve never seen it (or heard it) told before.

It’s A Wonderful Life: A Radio Play by Philip Grecian is directed by T. Paul Lowry, Raue Center and Williams Street Repertory’s Producing Director.

WS Rep actress Kate Hein switches gears for this production and will serve as Assistant Director. Lowry and Hein will put an original spin on a classic production that offers audience members a fresh take on a familiar storyline. The audience will appear to have a “fly on the wall” perspective as the experience the unspoken fun, and sometimes chaotic moments, of the WSRP studio. Listen as the cast tells you the story following the ever-selfless George Bailey as he inadvertently helps an angel get his wings.

Many actors in It’s A Wonderful Life: A Radio Play switch between characters throughout the show so listen up for a variety of dialects and tones. You may be familiar with Chris Davis, Amy Ferraro, Amanda Flahive, Frank Gaughan, Sarah Jordan, Mark Mahallak and John McNally who all recently wrapped WS Rep’s very successful 2 week run of The Rocky Horror Show. Other It’s A Wonderful Life cast members lending their voices to this production include Danny Miller, Paul Anderson, Sarah Breidenbach and Veronica Garza.

Children will also appear in a WS Rep production for the first time! These young actors include Abby Anderson, Jacob Barker and Alex Ratkovich.

Other goings-on at Raue Center include our annual holiday traditions like: Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra (December 7)

  • Voices In Harmony’s Sing- Along Messiah (December 9)
  • Let Sugar Plum Fairies entrance you as for a few hours during The Nutcracker Ballet (December 22 and 23)
  • Or laugh your way into the 2013 with comedians Steve Cochran, Patty Vasquez and John DaCosse with the New Year’s Eve Comedy Show (December 31).
