Ive had two COMPLETELY different experiences with this facility. the first time was around this time last year. I have a year old farret & he fell ill. Since farrets are considered "exotic" animals, my choices were drastically narrowed. I was excited because everyone else wanted $66+ to see my baby, who mind you was less than 1lb at the time, whereas this place wanted only $29! I took him in, saw the vet (ended up being 2 different vets for 2 different visits). I was so happy to be getting him better & that i wasnt going to break my bank account (i work part time & go to nursing school fulltime). they did an xray which i was kind of irritated by bc i knew he didnt need one. Farrets are very gentile animals. they can get sick easier than normal pets ( they can catch illnesses from humans and give humans illnesses as well). the xray, as i suspected, was negative ( we thought maybe he ate something...?) so there was $99 i didnt have out the window BUT i was happy that it wasnt anything that serious. after 1 other visit, we found that he was extremely anemic & needed iron. so they gave us some wet food, and some medicine to give thru a syringe (he was only a couple months old). he ended up doing great and pulled through and is a happy go lucky little guy. i was so pleased with them, at the time, becuase they got me in asap, they were nice & kept me calm.

My second experience was just recently, when i referred my mom to take our 6 year old shepard mix dog in bc he lost 30lbs very fast and was having trouble breathing. at first, my mom had no complaints... until we started to get NO WHERE with them or our dogs diagnosis. i dont know the particulars bc my mom dealt with them but i did go with one time (they wanted to try and give him fluids & who to better to give them than a nursing student) and was kind of preturbed by how the front desk receptionists treated us. One of the girls did NOTHING but give dirty looks the entire time we were in the waiting room & when we went to check out, she was aboslutely rude to my mother. she didnt even know what to do or how to check us out and the tech who helped us in the exam room had to do it for her. i thought to myself, well they have one bad egg, lets hope that doesnt happen again. about 2 weeks later, after having to call multiple times for his lab results, my mother told me that they did the exact same blood tests 3 or 4 times!! and one of them wasnt even sent to the lab... well, in my exeprience as a nursing student, the only time you do multiple lab tests of the same pannels is when there is treatment being implemented or you are monitoring. neither of the latter was occuring in our case. my mother had enough and got a second opinion. thats where it got good!! she proceded to tell me (after the 1st appointment with the new vet) that the vet at randall road didnt even EXAM HIM! he was having trouble breathing and it is STILL obvious and the vet didnt even put a damn stethascope to his chest to listen to his lungs!! they never once touched him, let alone put him on the exam table!!! all they did was order tests, over and over. xray here, blood test there. my poor dog has been poked and proded so many times for no reason because the vets at randall road still didnt even know what was wrong with him. we went through 3 things of antibiotics bc it COULD be an infection... yet his white blood cell count on his lab results was normal... this time last year, i would have recommended this place to everyone i encountered with a pet. Now, i will deter anyone from going there. absolutely rude service, they are money hungry and will order test after test even if unnecessary, they are careless with specimens and lab results & they dont call when they say they will. you have to hound them for any kind of results. its ridiculous. they may be cheap, but even that comes with a price. NEVER AGAIN!!!
