Water Main Break to Close Portion of Route 176 Tuesday Night, Wednesday Morning

A portion of Route 176 in Crystal Lake will be closed beginning at 11 p.m. Tuesday so repairs can be made following a water main break, according to a Crystal Lake Police Department press release. 

The water main break occurred at the intersection of Route 176 and Ridge Avenue, according to the news release. The repairs are expected to wrap up by 9 a.m. Wednesday. 

During the overnight repairs, detours will be made on Route 176 for both eastbound and westbound traffic approaching the work zone. 

The detour will direct westbound motorists south on Oak Street, west on Woodstock Street, and north on Route 14 where normal travel may then resume on Route 176. The eastbound detour will follow the same route in the opposite direction.
