Voter Registration Deadline Feb. 21 for Primary Election

Early voting is scheduled for Monday, Feb. 27 through Thursday, March 15.

Tuesday, Feb. 21 is the last day to register to vote for the 2012 Illinois primary election.

To register you must: be a U.S. citizen, be 18 years old by election day and a resident of your precinct for at least 30 days prior to the election.

You can register to vote at the McHenry County Clerk's Office, 2200 N. Seminary Ave in Woodstock.

You'll need to bring two types of identification: a driver's license or picture ID and an additional item such as a lease or utility bill. Make sure at least one form of ID lists your current address.

Voters who miss the regular registration deadline will still be able to vote if they register during the 14-day grace period. Grace-period registration runs from Feb. 22 through March 13. Grace-period voters must vote in person at the Clerk's office immediately after signing up to vote.

Grace-period registrants are not allowed to vote by mail, at the polls on Election Day, or at any Early Voting site.
