Village Board Set to Approve Support of Mercy Hospital

Mercy Hospital officials plan to present plans to the Village board at tonight's meeting.

When it comes to the Village of Cary, growth and development is associated to the to be built in Crystal Lake at the corner of Route 31 and Three Oaks Road.

The approved a resolution to support a hospital as requested by Mercy Health System on Feb. 15.

reported "Once approved by the state and area localities, building the 356,000-square-foot facility would create approximately 800 construction jobs; and about 800 permanent jobs once building is completed."

According to a Village release, Mayor Tom Kierna and the Village board "Are very interested in the proposed Hospital given the significant positive impact it would have on the Village of Cary and the entire southeast McHenry County area."

There is development ready property close to the proposed hospital site and the Village believes "A Hospital immediately on Cary's border would provide more expedient emergency healthcare and significant employment opportunities for Cary residents."

Before the Mercy Hospital officials visit the Village board, they will be holding a multi-chamber of commerce meeting with area residents at the located at 800 Route 31 and Three Oaks Rd. from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The Village board will meet this evening at 7 p.m. at Village Hall, 655 Village Hall Drive.
