Davis directed a thank you to the sitting village board at the meeting.

“It has been a privilege to serve with you,” Davis said.

Davis had been employed with Cary since October 2, 1995. At 15 years of service, he was the longest-serving professional administrator in Cary’s history.

During his tenure, Davis was involved in the completion of 10 new subdivisions, the addition of more than 5,000 people to the population of the village, and the initiation, completion and operation of SEECOM, the Cary, Crystal Lake and Algonquin regional 911 dispatch center.

Cary has completed more than $65 million dollars in public improvements since first appointing Davis in 1995.

“The village appreciates the significant accomplishments that Mr. Davis helped to plan and bring to completion during his long tenure as village administrator,” Kierna said in the statement.

Davis expressed his pride in the accomplishments he achieved during his tenure in the public statement.

“Over the past fifteen plus years, I have appreciated the opportunity to serve a total of four different mayors, sixteen different village board members, four village clerks and the wonderful residents of Cary," he said in the statement. "I’m proud of all that we’ve been able to accomplish together. I wish Mayor Kierna, the village staff and the residents of Cary the very best going forward.”
