Provenzano Files to Run for McHenry County Clerk

McHenry County Board member Nick Provenzano made his run for McHenry County Clerk official Monday by filing election petitions.

Nick Provenzano filed his paperwork Monday, making his run for McHenry County Clerk official.

Provenzano, who currently serves on the McHenry County Board, filed with 1,302 signatures, well over twice the required number of signatures to run for this office, according to a press release.

He has received support from community leaders including Congressman Randy Hultgren, Sen. Dan Duffy and Sen. Karen McConnaughay, according to the release.

Provenzano said he will use his 25-plus years of business experience to seek out new efficiencies and cost-saving measures if elected clerk. He plans to achieve that by advancing technology in the clerk's office, according to the release.

"This modernization will lead to long-term cost savings, better and more convenient access to the clerk’s office, increased security, and improved elections," Provenzano said in the release.

"Finally, I will continue to do my best to advocate for conservative reform in McHenryCounty. My ultimate goal is to make interacting with the Clerk’s office easier, more efficient, and less expensive for all McHenry County residents.”

Provenzano is supported by a number of McHenry County officials including State’s Attorney Lou Bianchi and board members Michele Aavang, John Jung, Ken Koehler, Bob Martens, Robert Nowak, Sandy Salgado, and retired board member Pete Merkel, the release states.

He also has earned the backing of several local officials, business leaders, and political and civic leaders. A full list of his endorsements can be found on his website: www.NickProvenzano.com.
