Petition Packets Available for Spring Cary Park Board Election

Two park board commissioner seats, each carrying a six-year term, are up for election April 9, 2013.

Two of the five Cary Park District Board commissioner posts are up for election April 9, 2013. Both seats have six-year terms, according to the Cary Park District.

Nominating petition forms for the spring Park Board election are now available. Forms may be picked up at the Community Center, 255 Briargate Rd., Cary, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

A Park Commissioner candidate’s petition must be filed in the same office no earlier than Monday, Dec. 17, until Monday, Dec. 24, 2012.

Filing hours will be 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday with the exception of Dec. 24, when office hours will be 8:30 a.m. to noon, and 4 to 5 p.m.

Candidates must be a resident of the Cary Park District for at least one year prior to the election.
