Cary Proclaims April Community Fights Hunger Month

Community aims to help residents by sponsoring hunger month.

Cary is aiming to raise $20,000 for its local food pantry in April.

The endeavor is sponsored by St. Barnabas Christian Preschool and to benefit the .

It costs $6,000 per month to fund the food pantry.

Cary Mayor Tom Kierna issued a proclamation that April 2011 is Cary Community Fights Hunger Month at the March 15 village board meeting.

“Our residents are extremely generous,” Kierna said. “This is a call upon all Cary residents to consider, to the best of their ability, contributing to the food pantry.”
