Hubbard Joins Crystal Lake City Council; Schofield Moves to McHenry County Board

Winning her bid for McHenry County Board forced Carolyn Schofield to resign from the City Council. Resident Cameron Hubbard was tapped to fill her post.

 

Cameron Hubbard was official sworn into office on Tuesday by Mayor Aaron Shepley.

Hubbard, 27, is filling the Crystal Lake City Council seat vacated by Carolyn Schofield who was elected last month to the McHenry County Board.

A lifelong resident of Crystal Lake, Hubbard said he wanted to serve on the council as the way to get more involved with the community. He is a seventh generation resident of Crystal Lake.

"I've been active with the Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce," he said. "I been wanting to get more involved with the community."

Hubbard is married and lives on the city's south side. He works for Exemplar Financial Network in Crystal Lake.
