Crystal Lake Moves Forward With Wakeboard Park

A 32-acre cable wakeboard park at Three Oaks Recreation Area could soon become a reality if the Crystal Lake City Council gives its stamp of approval next month, according to the Northwest Herald.

The Crystal Lake City Council is expected to hear the proposal for the Vulkan Cable Park during its Aug. 5 meeting. If approved, construction could begin shortly after with a target opening date of May 2015, according to the article.

The proposed wakeboard park will feature three different tower systems that have cables, which pull riders along the water; a full restaurant and outdoor patio; a stage for live music; volleyball courts; outdoor hot tub; and beach area for people to view riders, according to the Northwest Herald.

The wakeboard park would be located on the southern shoreline of north lake at Three Oaks, the Northwest Herald reports.
