Cary, Crystal Lake: Holiday Lights Recycling Programs

Bring those old, broken or unwanted holiday lights to Crystal Lake City Hall for recycling through March 1.

Are you hoarding holiday lights?

You know, the strings where half the lights work?  Strands with lights that flicker on and off when you shake them, or twist them just the right way?

Perhaps it's time to part ways with those old, unwanted, or unused decorations. And the city of Crystal Lake and village of Cary can help.

Crystal Lake City Hall

From now through March 1, the city of Crystal Lake has partnered with Elgin Recycling to accept holiday lights for recycling, according to the city of Crystal Lake.

However, garland, live greens, wreaths or other non-recyclables can not be accepted.

Crystal Lake residents, drop those unwanted holiday lights from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at City Hall, 100 W. Woodstock Street.
