Cary Welcomes New Business, Proclaims C-G Week

The Village of Cary presented the key to the village to the Cary-Grove High School Volleyball team Tuesday night.

When an occurrence happens in Cary, residents should be alerted, according to Bob Heldman, who addressed the Cary Village Board Tuesday night with concerns about the reporting crimes and alerts to residents.

Heldman says he would like to see things that are going on in the ‘headlines,’ which would cutback on calls to the police department and deter people from who may want to break the law.

He suggested utilizing the Cary News Weekly, which is an email blast service that is sent once a week to subscribers, to inform them about happenings in the village.

Cary Trustee Rick Dudek said the , which would allow departments to post information concerning a variety of issues.

New Business

After receiving a unanimous recommendation from the Board of Zoning, Planning and Appeals, the village board followed suit and approved a conditional permit for Bikram Yoga, which will be located at 504 Northwest Highway, Suite 200.

 

Cary-Grove High School Volleyball Team

The proclaims Nov. 13 to Nov. 19 as the C-G volleyball team week. Mayor Tom Kierna said the volleyball team had an amazing season and this past weekend, accomplish something that hasn’t since the early 1990s.

The Trojans’ made it to the state finals three seasons in a row. Kierna said the team is respected throughout the state and recognized nationally.

“You’ve energize the whole community,” he said.

Coach Patty Langanis said she moved to the community in 1995 from a small town in Michigan and living here reminds her of growing up.

Langanis is proud of the community for their continued support.
