Cary Village Board Approves 2.13 Percent Property Tax Levy Hike

Cary Village Board approved the levy increase at its regular board meeting on Tuesday.

The Cary Village Board on Tuesday, Dec. 17, voted to increase its property tax levy by 2.13 percent, the Northwest Herald reports. The slight increase is expected to bring an additional $2.5 million into the village.

The larger levy will equate to a $52,000 increase over last year's levy, which totaled about $2.45 million. Under the new levy, the village will take in $2.5 million. The additional funds will help pay for the village's state-mandated police pension fund, the Herald story reported.
