District 26 officials will continue efforts to sell Maplewood School, the Northwest Herald reports.
Ideally, school officials would like to reparcel the property, located at 422 W. Krenz Ave. in Cary, in order to the keep the district's transportation department at the site. Should the entire property sell, District 26 would have to move the transportation department to another location, which could cost $2.9 million, the Herald reports.
District 26 is trying to sell the vacant school, one of three closed since 2004 due to budget cuts and decreasing enrollment, the story said. The original section of the school was built in 1926.
