Algonquin Man Sentenced for Growing 316 Marijuana Plants in Forest Preserve

Marcelino Villa-Rodriguez will be sentenced to probation and to pay $7,500 in restitution.

An Algonquin man who was arrested for growing 316 marijuana plants in the DuPage County forest preserve has been sentenced to two years probation and to pay $7,500 in restitution for the damage "he caused to the property," according to a Daily Herald article.

Marcelino Villa-Rodriguez, 29, was caught by authorities pruning the marijuana plants while police were looking for illegal deer-hunting stands in Pratt's Wayne Woods Forest Preserve near Wayne in September 2012, according to the article.

The plants were valued at $1.4 million.

Thats not enough..He needs to go to prison or be deported. Thisis what Amnesty for illegal mexicans will bring to our country and community. Only legal immigrants those who have followed our rules and laws should be allowed into our country.

So just Mexicans? What about other immigrants? Many imigrants, still don't follow US laws. Where does the article say that he is an illegal immigrant? The welfare offices post signs in Spanish and English that you do not have to prove you are a legal citizen to obtain aid - debit cards, free medical, housing, food. Now THAT is where they need to start making some changes. True, that 'punishment' does not send a strong message at all.

It’s hard to believe there are still places where marijuana growers and entrepreneurs are treated as major, dangerous criminals. May be the Marijuana is grown for medical purpose. It should be verified first. http://bigbudsmag.com/grow/article/marijuana-legalization-cannabis-marijuana-growing-books
