Cary Police have charged four men with armed robbery following a holdup Wednesday afternoon in Cary.

According to Acting Cary Police Chief Michael Roth, the following four men have been arrested:

  • Ceszar A. Fernandez, 21, of Elgin
  • Mark A. Picazo, 19, of Bartlett
  • Leon Gonzalez Jr., 18, of Bartlett
  • Christian J. Deleslin, 18, of Waukegan
Each of the men were charged with one count of aggravated robbery, a Class 1 felony; one count unlawful possession of cannabis, a Class 4 felony; and theft over $500, a Class 4 felony, Roth stated in a news release.

Fernandez, the driver of the car, also was charged with driving while license suspended. All four men were transported to the McHenry County Correctional Facility, where they are awaiting bond hearings, Roth said.

At approximately 12:35 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, Cary Police were called to assist a 20-year-old who said she had been robbed. The Northwest Herald reported the robbers "brandished" gun in the victim's face in the 1500 block of Crystal Lake Rd., Cary, while attempting to steal drugs from the woman.

The woman said four men had robbed her, and fled in a car. The victim was able to give police a description of the men and the vehicle, Roth said.

Cary Police located the getaway car a short time later and pulled the vehicle over in the parking lot of Walgreen's, located at the corner of Route 14 and Silver Lake Road.
