Two Dead in Unincorporated Antioch

A man who was barricaded in the area of Beach Grove Road and Westlake Avenue Friday morning has been found dead of an apparent suicide. A woman was also found injured at the scene this morning but later died at the hospital.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Response Team made entry to the structure in unincorporated Antioch where the barricaded subject was. He was deceased and a suicide note was located inside his vehicle.

Sheriff Curran is enroute to the scene for a press conference at 1 p.m. Friday.

The Lake County Sheriff's Department has set up a perimeter in the area of Beach Grove Road and Westlake Avenue in unincorporated Antioch where they believe a man is barricaded, and where an unidentified woman was found injured Friday morning and later died at the hospital.

Police are in contact with the barricaded man.

The man is believed to be armed, according to the Daily Herald, which has posted a video from the scene.

The Lake County News-Sun is reporting the deceased victim is female and the man is barricaded in a trailer.

Sheriff's deputies were called to the scene before 8 a.m. this morning. An injured person was transported by Antioch Rescue to Advocate Condell Hospital in Libertyville, where they were pronounced dead, according to a sheriff's department press release.
