Traffic Stop Results in Seized Drugs, Arrest

McHenry County Sheriff's Deputies find about $700 worth of illegal drugs.

A Feb. 18 traffic stop didn't bode well for a McHenry County man after deputies discovered a lot of illegal drugs in his car.

Aaron R. Wahl, 24, of 356 S. Tryon St. in Woodstock was charged Feb. 18 with two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, three counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of cannabis with the intent to deliver and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the McHenry County Sheriff's Office, after Wahl was stopped near N. Orleans St. and Lauren Ct. in McHenry a Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit was brought in, which indicated the presence of narcotics inside the 2002 Ford Mustang Wahl was driving.

The deputies found 58 Clonazepam, 29 Diazepam, 7.3 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 5.2 grams of cannabis, $190 United States Currency and two drug pipes. The estimated street value of the narcotics seized is approximately $700, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Wahl was transported to the McHenry County Jail, had his bond set at $50,000 and was given a Feb. 23 court date.
