Larkin was driving north on Route 31 at about 3 a.m. on Feb. 2, when he struck a car traveling southbound. After the collision, Larkin's car came to rest in a ditch on the east side of Route 31 near Gracy Road in Prairie Grove, Nygren said.

Sheriff deputies discovered Larkin was wanted on an arrest warrant for failure to appear in court on a previous charge for marijuana possession, Nygren said.

He was placed under arrest. Officers also found Larkin had cannabis smoking pipes, a scale, and a grinder in his possession. Larkin remains in the custody of the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office. Bond has been set at $6,780, Nygren said.
