Three-Month Investigation Puts Crystal Lake Resident Behind Bars

A three-month investigation has put a Crystal Lake resident behind bars on multiple drug-related charges.

Cassidy Villarreal, 23, of 15 South Oriole Trail, Crystal Lake was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Deliver, Unlawful Possession of Cannabis, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

According to the Crystal Lake Police Department, a three-month investigation indicated narcotics activity was present at Villarreal's residence on a regular basis. On Friday, members of the Crystal Lake Police Targeted Response Unit, in conjunction with the Illinois State Police North Central Narcotics Task Force and the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department, executed a narcotics search warrant at Villarreal's residence.

Cassidy Villarreal was transported to the McHenry County Jail to await a bond hearing.  Additional charges maybe pending as the investigation continues.
