Three Men Arrested on Drug Charges in Crystal Lake

Martin M. Dunn, 27, of Crystal Lake; Joseph M. Munts, 26, of Woodstock; and Angel DeJesus Marin, 26, were arrested Tuesday and charged with drug-related offenses.

 

Three men were arrested Tuesday after sheriff police searched a house in the unincorporated area of Crystal Lake and discovered approximately $17,000 worth of marijuana, drugs, cash and other items, McHenry County Sheriff Keith Nygren said.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Intelligence Led Policing Unit conducted an investigation into the sale of marijuana in the Crystal Lake area, Nygren said in a press release.

Sheriff police on Friday, Jan. 18, obtained a search warrant for a house at 7512 Hemlock St., located on the east side of Crystal Lake in The Manor subdivision, near the Sage YMCA.

As a result of the search, deputies seized approximately 1,710 grams of cannabis, two ecstasy pills, two cannabis Sativa plants, one digital scale, packaging materials, drug paraphernalia, and approximately $4,000 in cash.

Nygren estimates the street value of the drugs to be approximately $17,000.

While executing the search warrant, two residents and a visitor were arrested on multiple drug charges.

Nygren said Martin M. Dunn, 27, of 7512 Hemlock St., Crystal Lake, was charged with:

  • One count unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver
  • One count unlawful possession of cannabis
  • One count unlawful possession of a controlled substance
  • One count unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia
  • One count unlawful production of cannabis sativa plants

Dunn's bond was set at $50,000. He is scheduled to appear in court at 9 a.m. Jan. 24.

Nygren said Joseph M. Munts, 26, 1022 Clay St., Woodstock, was charged with:

  • One count unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver
  • One count unlawful possession of cannabis
  • One count unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia
  • One count unlawful production of cannabis Sativa plants.

Munts' bond was set at $50,000, and he was scheduled to appear in court Jan. 19.

Angel DeJesus Marin, 26, no address given, also was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of cannabis, Nygren said. His bond was set at $1,500, and he was scheduled to appear in court Jan. 19.
