Sheriff's Officers Honored for Catching 'Dangerous, Dangerous People'

Detectives and officers of the McHenry County Sheriff's Office were recognized today for their part in catching five suspects alleged to have committed at least seven armed robberies in the northwest suburbs, said

"These are dangerous, dangerous people they go into the store and rob people at gunpoint," Nygren said.

Officers and detectives from the McHenry County Sheriff's Office assisted Vernon Hills Police and the U.S. Marshall thwart an armed robbery in Vernon Hills on May 12.

Officers recognized were: Sgt. Anthony Penna, Sgt. John Koziol, Officers Craig L'Esperance, Hector Garza, Ben Brock and Tom Jonites.
