Sheriff Arrests McHenry Man Accused of Selling Marijuana

A McHenry man was arrested and charged Tuesday after the McHenry County Sheriff's Office received a tip he was selling marijuana in the McHenry area.

Michael A. Damore, 26, 1732 Court St., was arrested Feb. 12, and charged with one count of unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver (a Class 2 felony) and one count possession of cannabis (a Class 3 felony), according to the McHenry County Sheriff's Office.

Members of the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Intelligence Led Policing Unit and K-9 Unit acted on a citizen tip that Damore was selling cannabis in and around the City of McHenry, McHenry County Sheriff Keith Nygren said in a press release. 

Sheriff’s deputies received permission to search Damore’s residence at 1732 Court Street, McHenry.

During the search, deputies recovered approximately 500 grams of cannabis and $10,000 in cash. Sheriff Nygren estimates the street value of the cannabis seized to be $4,000, the press release said.

Damore is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 20, and his bond was set at $25,000, Nygren said.
