Procession Planned Thursday to Honor Larimer

Illinois Old Guard, Warriors Watch and Illinois Patriot Guard will honor the 27-year-old Navy serviceman.


The body of John Larimer will be escorted home Thursday by members of the Illinois Old Guard, Warriors Watch and Illinois Patriot Guard, the Northwest Herald is reporting.

Larimer, a petty officer third class with the U.S. Navy, was killed July 20, in the Aurora, Col. movie theater shooting. 

According to the Northwest Herald, the Illinois Old Guard plans to leave O'Hare International Airport about 2 p.m. The procession will travel north on Barrington Road, and then northwest on Route 14 through Fox River Grove and Cary, and into Crystal Lake.

The escort then will travel north on Route 31, and west on Route 176, and is expected to arrive at about 3:30 p.m. at the , the article said.

Visitation for Larimer is scheduled from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday, July 27, at the Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Route 176), Crystal Lake. The funeral and interment will be private.

Can not imagine the heart break of his family. Surely, now an angel in Heaven watching over all of them. My deepest sympathy and thoughts of condolensce.
