Power Outages a Mystery

Crystal Lake Police have received a few calls about loss of power, but the cause is unknown.

Crystal Lake Police received a few calls today about loss of power in isolated areas of the city, but a cause has not been determined and the locations seem to be random. 

“It seems scattered,” said Chief Eugene Lowery. “But there no known blackouts.” 

Lowery said areas affected were on the city’s south side. Damage to electrical equipment was not reported.

Commonwealth Edison would not verify the reports of power loss without specific addresses. However, on the company's website, Crystal Lake shows up on the power outage alert map.
