Police Searching for 2 Men Who Robbed Servitax in Crystal Lake

Two men entered Servitax on Route 14 in Crystal Lake and demanded money.

Crystal Lake Police are searching for two men who robbed Servitax on Wednesday morning in Crystal Lake.

Shortly before 9:45 a.m. today, Aug. 7, two men entered the business located at 459 W. Route 14, and implied they had a weapon. Victims said they never saw the alleged weapon, according to a news release issued by Deputy Police Chief Derek Hyrkas.

The duo made off with an undetermined amount of money. They also took several cellphones from the employees. The suspects ran away in the direction south of Servitax, Hyrkas stated in the release.

No one was injured in the robbery. 

One of the male suspects was described as being Hispanic, about 5’5” tall, with dark hair. He was wearing a red T-shirt and blue jeans. A description of the second suspect was not available, police said.

This armed robbery is being actively investigated by the Crystal Lake Police Department. 

Crystal Lake authorities are requesting that anyone who may have information regarding this case, however slight, to contact the Crystal Lake Police Department at (815) 356-3620.
