Authorities are searching for the body of a man who they believe drowned Sunday morning while trying to swim with a friend to an island in the Fox River in Carpentersville, according to the Daily Herald.
The man is believed to be from the Chicago area and entered the river with another man near Angelina Place and Williams Road shortly after 10 a.m., the Daily Herald reports.
His friend told police he saw the man struggling in the river's current and then disappearing in the water, according to the article.
