Police Searching for Suspect in Attempted Robbery of Wonder Lake Store

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office and Crime Stoppers of McHenry County are seeking the community’s help in identifying an attempted robbery suspect. 

A man dressed in disguise attempted to rob the Sunrise Food and Liquor at about 10:24 p.m. this past Friday, Oct. 4. The store is located at 5313 E. Wonder Lake Road, Wonder Lake.

The man entered Sunrise Food and Liquor and told an employee he wanted money, but did not show a weapon to employees, according to the McHenry County Sheriff's Office.

The man exited the store on foot without any money. 

The suspect is described as being a soft-spoke caucasian man, about 5’6” tall, and weighing more than 230 pounds. 

He was wearing black shoes with white soles. The shoes had a white stripe on the side. He also wore faded blue jeans that were torn in the front and back and rolled at the ankles. He had on a brown hooded sweatshirt with front pockets and "G-Unit" written on the front. The jacket was marked with brass knuckles and skulls.

He also was wearing black sunglasses and a gold colored bandana on his face.
