Police Blotter: Child Pornography and Drugs

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Crystal Lake Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination

CHILD PORNOGRAPHY

DENZEL A. HAYES, 19, of 511 Leah Lane #1B in Woodstock was arrested Dec. 27 on a warrant out of the McHenry County Sheriff's Office for three counts of indecent solicitation of a child. He was transferred to the McHenry County Sheriff's Office. A court date has not been set. Hayes was again arrested Dec. 29 for six counts of aggravated child pornography. He was transferred, again, to the McHenry County Sheriff's Office and given a Jan. 24 court date.

DRUGS

NICHOLAS M. SIMMS, 18, of 1468 Blue Heron Drive in was arrested Jan. 4 on a warrant out of the McHenry County Sheriff's Office for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on $150 bond.

PATRICK JAMES VELASQUEZ, 22, of 121 Tennysen Court in Elgin was charged Jan. 5 with unlawful possession of cannabis and obstructing justice. He was transferred to the McHenry County Sheriff's Office and given a Feb. 21 court date.

HANNAH MAKENZIE MICHAELIS, 18, of 545 Delaware Drive in Lake in the Hills was charged Jan. 5 with unlawful possession of cannabis. She was released on $150 bond and given a Feb. 7 court date.

CHRISTOPHER JAMES CHAPMAN, 24, of 205 Marian Parkway #1D in Crystal Lake was charged Jan. 6 with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of cannabis. He was released on $150 bond and given a Feb. 7 court date.
