One Year Old in Cary Falls Out of Window

The child was transported to Good Shepard Hospital by the Cary Fire Protection District.

Sheriff Keith Nygren announced on May 10 at approximately 7:56 p.m. sheriff's deputies responded to the 8300 block of Hickory Nut Grove Rd. in unincorporated Cary for a child that fell out of a second story window.

Members of the Cary Fire Protection District also responded.

The deputies arrived at the scene and learned the a one-year old child had been playing upstairs with his older brother when he fell out of a second story bedroom window.

The child's mother was downstairs and heard a noise like something that had dropped. When she arrived upstairs, she noticed the screen of the window was out and the one-year old was not in the room. The mother found the child outside.

The Cary Fire Protection District transported the child to Good Shepherd Hospital.

At this time the sheriff’s office does not anticipate any law enforcement actions to be required.

Good Shepherd hospital officials said they are not allowed to release information regarding the child's condition.
