Oh Scrap! Man Arrested for Stealing Items from Sheds

A McHenry County man was arrested Wednesday for stealing scrap from sheds.

Robert L. Wevik, 45, of 723 Wicker Street in Woodstock was charged with three counts of burglary after Deputies found him with stolen items.

Deputies arrived at a residence in the 4300 block of Walkup Road in unincorporated for a burglary in progress after the property owner said the offender had forced entry into three different sheds and filled his truck with scrap items that he located on the property.

According to the Sheriff's Office, the caretaker was able to identify items on the truck belonging to the property owner.

Wevik was taken into custody and transported to McHenry County Corrections Facility.

Wevik bond was set at $30,000 and he was given a Nov. 8 court date.
