Algonquin Kitchen Fire Causes $20K in Damages

The blaze started in the kitchen of a home on Winaki Trail early Tuesday morning.

Firefighters responded to a blaze early Tuesday at an Algonquin home. 

A resident reported the fire at 1414 Winaki Trail after finding smoke in the kitchen of the home about 3:24 a.m., according to an Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District press release.

Firefighters found smoke showing in the rear of the single-story ranch home and a fire in the kitchen. Fire crews put out the blaze and remained on scene to investigate the fire.

The fire is still under investigation at this time and damage is expected to be under $20,000, according to the news release. 

No one was injured in the blaze.

The Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District received assistance from Carpentersville, Cary, East Dundee and Fox River Grove fire departments.
