McHenry: Girl, 12, Dies in Overnight Fire, Man Dies from Apparent Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

Two separate overnight incidents in the same McHenry neighborhood claim two lives.

 

Two people died early this morning in separate incidents in a McHenry neighborhood, the Northwest Herald is reporting.

A 12-year-old girl was found dead after a house fire in the 4500 block of West Parkway Avenue at 1:20 a.m. Friday. The victim has been identified as Dayana Garcia. Her parents and three brothers escaped from thouse, the story stated.

About one hour later, police responded to a second house in the Lakeland Park subdivision for a medical emergency. Responders arrived at the house, located in the 1700 block of North Avenue, and found high levels of carbon monoxide, the NWH reports.

Carlos Arenas-Rodriguez, 20, was transported to Centegra Hospital in McHenry, where he was later pronounced dead. Two other occupants of the house were treated at the scene and released, the NWH reported.
