McHenry Man Charged with Selling, Possessing Drugs

Ryan M. O'Keefe, 26, was arrested and charged with multiple offenses when concerned residents in Wonder Lake reported suspected drug sales in the area, sheriff's police said.

 

Concerned residents in a Wonder Lake neighborhood suspected drug sales were taking place in their streets.

After receiving the tip, McHenry County Sheriff's deputies conducted surveillance in the area. As a result, deputies observed a drug transaction on Tuesday, Nov. 6, and pulled over a blue, 2006 Chevrolet Canyon at Hilltop Road and Seminole Drive, according to McHenry County Sheriff Keith Nygren.

The driver, Ryan M. O'Keefe, 26, 210 N. Draper Rd., McHenry, was arrested and charged with driving on a suspended drivers license, Nygren said in a press release.

During the investigation, sheriff’s deputies recovered about 6.8 grams of heroin, six Suboxone pills, multiple items of drug paraphernalia, the 2006 Chevrolet Canyon and $202.00, Nygren said.

The sheriff estimates the street value of the narcotics seized was worth approximately $1,360.

O'Keefe was charged with one count unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, one count unlawful possession of a controlled substance, two counts unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and two counts driving on a suspended drivers license.
