McHenry County Woman in Critical Condition After Monday Night Crash

Sheriff's Deputies are investigating the one-car crash.

A woman is in critical condition after are saying her left the roadway Monday night and struck several trees.

According to the Sheriff's Office, Holly M. Pfeil, 41, of Lake in the Hills was driving a 1999 Ford Crown Victoria at 6:40 p.m. Monday night when her vehicle, traveling westbound, left the roadway within the 11200 block of Illinois Route 176, east of Illinois Route 47, in unincorporated Dorr Township. The vehicle left the north side of the roadway for unknown reasons and struck multiple trees.

The Sheriff's Office is saying alcohol is suspected to be a factor of the crash.

Pfeil was transported by Flight for Life to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville where she was reported to be in critical condition, according to the Sheriff's Office. Front airbags deployed within the vehicle and she was found to have not been wearing her safety belt.

The traffic crash is under investigation by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Accident Investigation Unit.
