McHenry Area Man Arrested for Criminal Sexual Assault
Scott M. Wurtz, 44, was arrested Tuesday and charged with criminal sexual assault, unlawful restraint and battery.
The McHenry County Sheriff's Office has released details of an arrest near McHenry that involved the county's SWAT team.
McHenry County Sheriff deputies on Monday, Aug. 13, responded to a report of a criminal sexual assault that occurred in unincorporated McHenry.

Through interviews with the victim and other witnesses, sheriff’s office investigators identified the location of the alleged assault - a single family home located in the 2700 block of Sterling Avenue just outside the McHenry city limits.
On Tuesday, investigators executed a search warrant on the residence with the use of the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team.

Subsequenlty, Scott M. Wurtz, 44, who resides in the house, was taken into custody and charged with criminal sexual assault, unlawful restraint and battery.
The investigation is on-going and more charges may be filed.
Bond was set at $100,000. Wurtz is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 28.
