Man Pulled From Sinking Car at Algonquin Commons Pond

Emergency personnel were called to 1524 Randall Road in Algonquin Wednesday.

First responders smashed the sunroof of a car in and pulled a man out after his vehicle went into a pond at Algonquin Commons and was beginning to sink, according to the Daily Herald. 

Area fire department divers were called to the scene of the incident at 11:15 a.m., according to the Elgin Courier-News. 

The Honda Accord went from the parking lot at Half-Price Books at the Algonquin Commons into the pond and the man, who was transported to an area hospital, was unconscious and had no pulse at the time of the rescue, according to the Daily Herald.
