An area man received a citation Friday after he collided into a County Sheriff's Department squad car.
The crash occurred at 9 a.m. at the intersection of Route 31 and Crystal Lake Avenue in Crystal Lake, according to a McHenry County Sheriff's Department press release.
The squad car, according to the press release, was stopped at traffic light when it was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by an Aurora man.

The McHenry County Sheriff's Department officer was transported to where he was treated and released.
The Illinois State Police investigated the crash and cited the Aurora man with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

The Aurora man was not injured during the crash and did not seek medical attention.
